Calling All Cars: It was the 1930s. The era of John Dillinger, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, Charles Arthur "Pretty Boy" Floyd, and many others headline-grabbing gangsters. Radio played it's part in stemming the tide of crime. Calling All Cars was one of the earliest police shows. Dramatizing true crime exploits, and introduced by real-life law enforcement officials. Here are 16 more half-hour episodes with the original commercials for Rio Grande Gasoline. The program featured real-life law enforcement officials every week. The only two regulars on the show were the narrator, Charles Frederick Lindsey, and the real-life L.A.P.D. dispatcher Jesse Rosenquist, whose unique voice and name became the show's trademark.
