A long forgotten film about man who forgets starring that Southern Gentleman... Phil Harris. Old Curly" is cast as housepainter Phil Burton, who while suffering from amnesia imagines that he's the leader of a popular swing band. While suffering this delusion, Burton falls in love with perky Ann Carter (Leslie Brooks). When his memory returns, Burton returns to his meek, untalented self-but not for long, if Ann has anything to say about it!

Description:
(1945) Phil Harris and his assistant Eddie "Rochester" Anderson are painters doing a job at a nightclub. In the process of helping club singer Leslie Brooks, he clumsily falls on his head. After Phil awakens in a hospital room and discovers that he is suffering from amnesia, his physician, Dr. Gardiner, dubs him "John Doe" and suggests he return to the Club Monterey, where someone might recognize him. By circumstance and guesswork he's made to believe he's actually a bandleader. Oddly enough, he's got an innate talent for it and becomes a success -- and Anderson, even though he knows Harris is really a painter, attaches himself as a Man Friday in order to ride along on Harris' bandleader success.
