shorts released by The Nostalgia Merchant in the 1980s and finally found
10 volumes. These have been carefully transfered to DVD and they are
excellent quality.

Laurel and Hardy Vol. 1

Description: Four classic shorts:
The Music Box (1932)-Classic mishaps and pratfalls as L&H try to deliver a piano up a daunting flight of stairs! Their only Academy Award-winning short!
County Hospital (1932)-Stan wreaks havoc in the hospital when he visits Ollie, who’s recuperating from a broken leg, then tries to drive Ollie home after accidentally taking a powerful sedative!
The Live Ghost (1934)-Short-tempered sea captain tries to live down his ship’s reputation as a haunted galleon, promising dire consequences to whomever even mentions the word “ghost”. Unfortunately, L&H are on deck, and when a drunken sailor falls into some whitewash…!
Twice Two (1933)-Stan and Ollie do double duty as themselves and as their wives! It seems Stan married Ollie’s twin sister, and Ollie married Stan’s twin sister…and trouble is just around the corner when they plan to celebrate their anniversaries together! With Carol Tevis as the dubbed voice of Mrs. Hardy and Mae Wallace as the dubbed voice of Mrs. Laurel.

Description: Four classic shorts:
Blotto (1930)-Stan gets his hands on his wife’s secret liquor stash and plans a wild night at a club with Ollie. Mrs. Laurel, however, is wise to the plan, and replaces the alcohol with a disgusting mixture of various non-alcoholic substances!
Towed in a Hole (1932)-Stan and Ollie are fish salesmen when Stan gets a brainstorm: Fix up an old boat and catch their own fish to sell!
Brats (1930)-L&H each have a little boy—also played by Stan & Ollie! The two little brats get into all sorts of mischief while their parental counterparts try to have a quiet night playing checkers and pool.
Hog Wild (1930)-Mrs. Hardy demands that Ollie set up a radio aerial on the roof before going off with Stanley. Oliver balances a ladder on top of his Model T to get to the roof, but Stanley accidentally starts the car, beginning a wild ride through town!

Oliver the 8th (1934)–Oliver receives a marriage proposal from a wealthy widow, only to find she’s crazy, having married and killed seven previous “Olivers.”
Busy Bodies (1933)-L&H take a job at a lumber mill and quickly begin antagonizing their co-workers, as well as making a shambles of the whole mill!
Their First Mistake (1932)-Mrs. Hardy throws a fit because Ollie spends all his time with Stanley, so the boys adopt a baby to keep her busy! Unfortunately, when they get home, they find Mrs. Hardy has left Oliver, leaving L&H to care for the little tyke themselves!
Dirty Work (1933)-Chimney sweeps Stanley and Oliver make a disaster of a mad scientist’s home, and Oliver accidentally gets knocked into the doctor’s “reducing” formula!

Another Fine Mess (1930)-Penniless and on the lam, L&H hide out in the home of Colonel Buckshot, a big-game hunter who’s on safari. When a snooty Lord & Lady ask about renting the house, Oliver pretends to be the colonel, while Stan does double duty as the butler and the maid!
Come Clean (1931)-The boys go to get ice cream for their wives, but end up being blackmailed into hiding a female criminal after they rescue her from drowning. But what will they tell their wives when they bring the bad girl home?
Laughing Gravy (1931)-After the landlord throws their dog, “Laughing Gravy,” out into the cold, Stan & Ollie encounter one mishap after another (including crawling down the chimney) in their attempt to rescue man's best friend.
Any Old Port (1932)-After rescuing a girl from a forced marriage to a lecherous landlord, Ollie talks Stan into a boxing match with a brute (turns out it's the landlord looking for revenge!) who uses a loaded glove.

Be Big (1931)-While getting ready for a vacation with their wives, L&H get a call from their lodge informing them of a stag party being held in their honor. The boys feign illness to go to the party, but when the wives miss their train, they discover their husbands’ ruse.
The Perfect Day (1929)-It’s the perfect day for a picnic! L&H load up the car with their families, but things seem destined for disaster.
Night Owls (1930)-Down on his luck Police Officer Kennedy (42 unsolved crimes on his watch!) gets a great idea: he hires vagrants L&H to commit a crime so he can arrest them in front of his boss, and later get the boys out of jail.
Helpmates (1932)-Ollie’s house is a catastrophe after a wild party, and his wife is due back soon! He enlists the help of his buddy Stan, and after many disasters, things seem to be going well…say, Stan, why don’t you start a nice fire in the fireplace?

Our Wife (1931)-Ollie and his portly intended decide to elope after her father forbids the match, using a tiny getaway car to hold them and Stan! Trouble really begins when they find a cross-eyed justice of the peace!
The Fixer Uppers (1935)-Stan and Ollie agree to help a depressed woman who feels her husband neglects her. Ollie tries to make the man jealous, but is too convincing and the man challenges him to a duel!
Them Thar Hills (1934)-To rest from his city lifestyle, Ollie takes Stan to the countryside for some fresh air and clean water. Unfortunately, moonshiners have contaminated their well water with barrels of alcohol, but the fun really starts when the two drunk buddies meet up with a rowdy, fun-loving woman and her flustered husband!
Tit for Tat (1935)-L&H set up an electrical repair shop, which is located right next door to a grocery store run by the bickering couple from “Them Thar Hills”!! The boys go on over to bury the hatchet, but the grocer is convinced they’re after his wife!

Below Zero (1930)-Stan and Ollie are street musicians whose instruments are demolished by a disgruntled woman. Their luck changes when they find a wallet full of money, but what they don’t know is that it belongs to the cop on their street!
Thicker Than Water (1935)-Ollie’s in the doghouse again when he doesn’t have the money to make a payment on his wife’s furniture. Stan convinces him to withdraw his savings and buy the furniture, which starts a series of comedic mishaps.
Midnight Patrol (1933)-L&H are rookie cops who miss hearing the address of a burglary in progress, and go to use the phone in a jewelry store, which happens to be where the robbery is taking place! Of course, they mistake the robber for the store owner.
Me and My Pal (1933)-Ollie’s marrying the boss’ daughter, which will result in a big promotion. Then Stan brings over his wedding present: an intriguing jigsaw puzzle that makes Stan & Ollie forget all about the wedding!

Men O’War (1929)-L&H are sailors on shore leave who meet up with two silly young girls and decide to take them for a soda. When Stan hits the jackpot on a slot machine, they all rent a boat, causing bedlam on the lake!
The Laurel & Hardy Murder Case (1930)-The boys wave goodbye to their fisherman days when Stanley receives word that his rich uncle has died. When they arrive at the reading of the will, however, they find the old man was murdered, and Stanley and his relatives are all prime suspects!
Scram (1932)-Stan and Ollie are vagrants ordered out of town by Judge Beaumont. While complying with the order, the boys meet a friendly drunk who invites them to stay at his mansion, only he’s forgotten his keys…wait a minute, is that really his house? It looks an awful lot like Judge Beaumont's...!
One Good Turn (1931)-Depression victims Laurel & Hardy are given something to eat by a kindly old woman. While they’re eating, they hear the landlord threatening to evict her, not knowing the two are really rehearsing a play! Stan & Ollie decide to do everything in their power to help the old lady.

Beau Hunks (1931)-Oliver joins the Foreign Legion to forget an old flame, dragging Stan with him. Ollie finds that every man in the Legion has been dumped by the same woman, but the commanding officer refuses Ollie’s request for a discharge, making the boys hike across the desert to a besieged fort.
Chickens Come Home (1931)-Oliver runs for mayor, but is blackmailed by an nutty old girlfriend who has a compromising photo of the would-be politician.
Going Bye-Bye! (1934)-The boys testify at a trial, sending Butch, a notoriously violent criminal, to jail. They then decide to get out of town, unwittingly taking along Butch’s girl as a travelling companion! What they also don’t know is that Butch has escaped from the cops and is going to hide out at his girlfriend’s apartment!
Berth Marks (1929)-Vaudeville pseudo-stars L&H take a train trip, but mistakenly enter the wrong sleeping compartment, angering a passenger who thinks they are peeping on his wife! This begins a free-for-all on the train, with the boys escaping the melee, but they still have to find a way for both of them to fit into their single upper berth!

The Chimp (1932)-To pay off their employees, a defunct circus gives each worker part of the show. The boys end up with a flea circus and a chimp named Ethyl, which is also the name of their landlord's wife! The antics begin when the jealous landlord hears Ollie telling "Ethyl" to "come to bed"!!
The Stolen Jools (1931)-L&H join almost every star in Hollywood after Norma Shearer's diamonds are stolen. The Boys "assist" Detective Eddie Kane with the usual results. A fascinating look at early sound comedy.
On The Wrong Trek (1936)-Stan and Ollie say good-bye to Roach star Charley Chase in this rare cameo appearance. Charley travels west at the insistance of his know-it-all mother-in-law. Along the way he encounters The Boys.
The Hoose-Gow (1929)-After a police raid, innocent bystanders Stan & Ollie are sent to a labor camp, where they become menaces with picks and axes. With axes they cut down a tree containing the prison guardtower, and with the picks they poke a hole in the governor's car radiator, and try to fix the crack by stuffing rice into it!
