Our Miss Brooks: Miss Brooks teaches English at Madison High, rents a room from Mrs. Davis, gets rides to school with student Walter, fights with Principal Conklin, and tries to snag shy biology teacher Phillip Boynton. It began as a radio show broadcast on CBS from 1948 to 1957, where it was a hit from the outset. Within eight months of its launch as a regular series, the show landed several honors, including four for Eve Arden, who won polls in four individual publications of the time. When the show was adapted to television (1952-56), it also became one of the TV’s earliest sitcom hits. Also starring Richard Crenna, and Gale Gordon.
